This doesn’t look exactly like the kitchen you’ve seen, I know. That is why I went with quartz. In your kitchen is a countertop, you ll want to make sure it s one you re proud of and like to look at. Mother Nature has gifted us with so much beauty in the form of natural stone surfaces for use in the home.


Concerto Gray Quartz looks like soapstone with its frost and dove grays and small speckles of charcoal. Since soapstone is softer than most natural stones, it will get small nicks and grooves that need to be sanded out. Quartz on the other hand is super strong and won’t scratch. I specifically went with Eternal Statuario because I was looking for quartz with a “white, white” base- something dramatically fresh, white and reflective. I have LG’s Minuet quartz in my bathroom, which also looks like marble, but the base is more creamy, off white. However, I still like the warmth of granite. I do like the look of the soapstone , but the maintenance part is a turn -off for me.


QUARTZ is a bunch of stones adhered together with plastic. UV rays, it can scratch and chip just like any natural stone. Its made to look like granite countertops but its a manufactured material and will never have that one of a kind mystic about it. Solid-surface countertops can look like natural stone but they’re generally less expensive and.


It’s important to take a complete look at the whole picture if you’re comparing the price of soapstone versus granite , quartz , marble etc. With the harder stone types there’s no chance of saving money on the installation. It won’t turn out perfect, but that’s okay… it’s even part of the look. Plus, you can save huge $$ and have a great time if you’re up to the task.

It’s not supposed to look like granite or soapstone. Just be warne it’s not as easy as it looks !
